VAT Tax Specialist – Apprenticeship

Based in Nice Arénas, we support international businesses in reducing their tax burden and optimising their cash flow.

Our areas of expertise include:

• Foreign VAT recovery (over 50 countries)
• Optimisation of deductible VAT in France
• VAT registrations and compliance obligations worldwide

The Opportunity

As part of our growth, we are recruiting a VAT Tax Specialist (Apprenticeship / Work-study) for a duration of one year, starting in September 2026.

You will be trained in both French and international VAT matters and will progressively work on client assignments, in direct collaboration with the firm’s founder.

Your Responsibilities

Following an initial training period, you will contribute to both the operational management and the development of the firm’s activities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing supplier invoices and expenses claims
• Identifying expenses eligible for VAT recovery
• Communicating with suppliers to request invoice corrections
• Preparing, submitting and monitoring VAT refund claims
• Managing VAT compliance obligations in France and internationally
• Assisting with VAT registrations abroad
• Monitoring tax developments and analysing regulatory changes
• Drafting articles (client newsletters, website and LinkedIn content)
• Updating the internal tax database (VAT rates and country-specific rules)
• Contributing to the identification of new tax optimisation opportunities

You may also provide occasional support with routine accounting tasks (data entry and monthly French VAT returns – CA3).

Your Profile

We are looking for a rigorous, analytical and committed student wishing to specialise in indirect taxation.

Targeted academic backgrounds:

• Master’s degree (M1 or M2) in Tax Law
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Control and Audit (CCA)
• Master’s degree in Finance / Tax / Business Administration
• DCG / DSCG (completed or in progress)
• BUT in Business and Administration (GEA – accounting/finance track), strong profiles considered
• Business school with a specialisation in Finance or Tax

Required Skills

• Strong interest in corporate taxation
• Fluent French and English
• Proficiency in Excel (intermediate level preferred)
• Accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
• Analytical mindset and ability to develop autonomy

Previous experience in an accounting firm or finance function would be an advantage.

Working Arrangements

• 35 hours per week: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm / 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
• Hybrid working model: office presence and remote work
• 50% contribution towards public transport subscription
• Compensation in accordance with the legal framework applicable to apprenticeship contracts in France
